Carolyn Gavin is a painter, Illustrator and surface pattern designer based in Toronto, Canada.

A flower child of the 60’s, Carolyn grew up in South Africa, left to travel Europe and relocated to Canada where she met her Montreal husband and had a baby.
Carolyn trained as a graphic designer and learned painting and techniques from artist Nina Campbell-Quine. In 2007, she started Ecojot with her family, an eco-friendly paper business. Today, she designs and directs for ecojot, as well as custom commissions and licensing with her agent Lilla Rogers Studio. Carolyn designs fabric, house wares, packaging, books, kids bedding and more. Some of her clients include: Anthropologie, Botanical Garden Centre (Harvard), Ekorrens Ekologiska Swedish Chocolate, Flow Magazine, Jane Goodall Institute, Land of Nod, Quarto Publishing, Red Cap Cards, Ritzenhoff, Tag Home Decor, Teneues, Unicef and Windham Textiles.
Carolyn works in Gouache, water-colour, pen and ink and vector. Finding inspiration in travel, flowers, exotic color and pattern, Carolyn makes sure her life is filled with beauty and creativity.
